Slack stops being effective once your organization has grown beyond a certain number. That number is closer to 200 than to 2000. If you don’t do a good architecture from the start you will never get out of your dirty hacks. Recruitement chosing quantity over quality is a good way to kill any startup’s future. At some point your young, flashy CEO is going to be replaced by an oldtimer who actually knows how to run a business. Knowing how to work people is more important than knowing how to code properly. At least if you want to move up the ladder.
